Planned road work for northwest Missouri, April 16 – 22

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the Northwest Missouri region planned for the week of April 16 – 22 from the Missouri Department of Transportation. In addition to the work listed below, there may be pothole patching, shoulder work, bridge maintenance, striping, brush cutting, guardrail repairs, litter pick up and other road work conducted throughout the region. Many of these will be moving operations and could include lane closures with delays. All scheduled maintenance and construction projects are subject to change.

MoDOT reminds the public to stay alert, watch for road work, buckle up, slow down, and drive with extreme caution through work zones and in changing weather conditions.

Andrew County

Interstate 29 – Bridge deck replacement at the Nodaway River Bridge. Traffic is head to head in the northbound lanes. This traffic pattern will be in place through August and includes a 13-foot width restriction.

Atchison County

I-29 – Flushing bridges, April 16 – 20

Buchanan County

I-29 – CLOSED for guardrail work on the ramp from southbound I-229 to northbound I-29, April 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-229 – Guardrail work from 22nd Street to the I-29 ramps, April 16 – 20

Caldwell County

Route D – Pothole patching from U.S. Route 36 to Route HH, April 16 – 18

Carroll County

Route J – Milling and resurfacing from U.S. Route 65 to Route J, April 16 – 20. This includes a 10-foot width restriction.

Route U – Shoulder work from County Road 221 to Route Z, April 17

Chariton County

Route JJ – Pothole patching, April 17

Route KK – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Flat Road to Slough Road, April 17 – 18, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route E – Pothole patching from Route 5 to Route 11, April 20

Clinton County

Route O – Pavement repair, April 16 – 20

Daviess County

Route C – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 185th Street to 195th Street, April 17, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

DeKalb County

U.S. Route 36 – Construction project at the Route M/Route 33 North intersection

  • Access between the east and westbound lanes of U.S. Route 36 is CLOSED, April 16-17
  • Left turns PROHIBITED both onto and off of U.S. Route 36. Right turns only. April 16-17
  • Eastbound narrowed to one lane, April 16 – 20, daylight hours

U.S. Route 36 – Guardrail improvements from the Buchanan County line to 1.4 miles west of Route N near Stewartsville, April 17 – 20

Gentry County

Route 136 – Pothole patching from the Harrison County line to the city limits of Albany, April 16 – 17

Route 111 – Bridge maintenance at the Grand River Creek Bridge, April 16 – 19

U.S. Route 136 – Pothole patching from one mile east of Route F to Route B, April 18 – 20

Grundy County

Route 6 – Bridge maintenance at the railroad crossing near Trenton, April 16 – 19

U.S. Route 65 – Pavement repair from Route Z to County Road 204 (Livingston County), April 17 – 18

Harrison County

Route EE – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Muddy Creek Bridge. The road will be closed through May.

Route Y – CLOSED for a culvert replacement three miles east of Route T, April 17, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route NN – CLOSED for a culvert replacement one mile north of Route M, April 17, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route Y – CLOSED for a culvert replacement 0.5 miles east of Route T, April 18, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route AA – CLOSED for a culvert replacement, April 19 – 20, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily

Holt County

U.S. Route 59 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Davis Creek Bridge. The road will be closed through June.

Route B – Pothole patching from Route Y to Route 5, April 16

Route JJ – Pothole patching from the Chariton County line to city limits of Marceline, April 17
