Drinking coffee before your workout could make it more effective. University of Granada researchers found drinking a strong coffee 30 minutes before your next workout can boost the rate of fat-burning that takes place. The researchers say this suggests that caffeine increases fat oxidation, helping you to burn off excess weight more easily. In the study, consuming 3 mg/kg of caffeine (the equivalent of a strong coffee) was linked to a greater fat-burning effect regardless of the time of day, but that the effect was more pronounced in the afternoon compared to during the morning.
