WORTH COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 2a.m. Saturday in Worth County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Dodge Ram driven by a 20-year-old Grant City man was southbound on Route U just south of Oxford. The driver failed to negotiate a curve. The pickup traveled off the east side of the road, struck an embankment, became airborne, rolled, struck several tree and came to rest off the east side of the road.
The passenger identified as a 21-year-old Grant City man was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. He was transported to Prugh Dunfee Funeral Home. Lifenet transported the driver to Truman Medical Center. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
