A seat on the St. Joseph City Council is now vacant as District II Councilmember Taylor Crouse has announced his resignation.

Due to changes in his family life Crouse will soon move outside his council district, making him no longer eligible to represent District II. Crouse’s resignation is effective immediately.

“It has been my honor and privilege to serve the residents of District II. I plan to continue my presence in St. Joseph through my insurance business and as a real estate agent,” Crouse said in a written statement released by the city.

“On behalf of the City Council, I want to express my thanks to Taylor for his service to the community and wish him well in his future endeavors,” Mayor John Josendale added.

More information on how the vacancy will be filled will be announced at a later date.
