St. Joseph has a new city councilmember.

The St. Joseph City Council appointed Jason Eslinger to fill
the remainder of District II Councilmember Taylor Crouse’s term. Crouse
resigned from the city council, saying family matters forced a move out of the
district.

Six southside residents showed interest in the position at
first with five submitting a letter of intent and resume for the city council
to consider.

Councilmembers ranked those applying and voted on the top two.

Eslinger will be sworn in prior to a special council meeting
April 9th.
