Mo. driver fell asleep just before 2-vehicle crash

NODAWAY COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 4p.m. Wednesday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported 2008 Dodge Magnum driven by a 28-year-old Elmo man was southbound on Route KK at 135th Street one mile north of Elmo. The driver fell asleep. The vehicle crossed the center line and struck the rear drivers side of a northbound 2008 Chevy 1500 driven by a 65-year-old Clarinda, Iowa man.

Nodaway County EMS transported the 28-year-old to the hospital in Clarinda, Iowa. The pickup driver was not injured. The injured driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
