Mosaic Life Care reports the personal identification of some of its patients might have been compromised when someone penetrated the Oracle Health/Cerner data migration service used by Mosaic.
Mosaic says it has begun mailing notification letters to patients who might have been affected.
Mosaic reports an unknown party contacted it claiming to have patient information in its possession, which Mosaic verified in late April. In May, Oracle Health/Cerner confirmed the files came from its system, likely when someone using compromised credentials hacked into its system as early as January. Earlier this month, Oracle provided Mosaic with a list of patients involved. The information obtained by the hackers varies, but could include sensitive health and financial information.
Mosaic is offering complimentary identity monitoring services to those patients impacted. It also encourages patients to review all information received from healthcare providers or insurance companies.
Mosaic has established a dedicated, toll-free call center to help answer questions about the Oracle Health/Cerner incident. The call center can be reached at 1-855-361-0316, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., excluding major U.S. holidays.
