Firefighters responded to an apartment fire in eastern St. Joseph very early Tuesday morning.
The fire at the Meadows Apartments on South Leonard Road forced occupants to flee the structure shortly before four o’clock Tuesday morning. The fire spread to the roof of the complex and rendered six apartments uninhabitable. The local Red Cross chapter has responded.
The St. Joseph Fire Department reports no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
