Pickup bolted, struck man outside vehicle in Andrew County

ANDREW COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 9a.m. Tuesday in Andrew County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Ford F350 driven by a 76-year-old Spokane, Washington man was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 29 just south of U.S. 59/71 exit.  The driver put the pickup in drive.

It bolted forward and struck  a 72-year-old a Cusick, Washington man who was outside the vehicle.  The pickup then traveled off the west side of the road, struck a traffic sign and came to rest in the ditch.

Andrew County EMS transported the pedestrian to Mosaic Life Care. The pickup driver was not injured. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
