A St. Joseph native has been named St. Joseph Artist of the Year.
Mayor John Josendale has named Christopher Alexander as Artist of Year, headlining the 2025 Mayor’s Awards for the Arts.
Alexander has spent years playing the piano, teaching music, and creating his own orchestrations. This upcoming September, he will collaborate with the Saint Joseph Symphony to provide an “Animated Adventures and Family Favorites” concert.
Arts Educator of the Year was awarded to Beth McLenaghan, a vocal coach.
Martial Thevenot was named Outstanding Volunteer. Youth Artist of the Year went to Gage Phroper. Christy George has been honored as the Individual Leadership Award.
The Organizational Achievement in the Arts award was given to St. Joseph Youth Chorale.
This was the 34th year of the Mayor’s Awards for the Arts.
