Missouri man, woman injured after Jeep rear-ends a trash truck

CLINTON COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 11a.m. Wednesday in Clinton County. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Jeep Liberty driven by a 43-year-old Columbia man was southbound on U.S. 69 five miles north of Lawson. The Jeep rear-ended a 2023 Peterbilt Trash Truck driven by a 53-year-old Excelsior Springs man who had slowed to make a left turn.

Lawson ambulance transported the Jeep driver and a 31-year-old female passenger to Liberty Hospital.  The trash truck driver was not injured.  The occupants of the Jeep were not wearing a seat belts, according to the MSHP. The patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
