HOLT COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 1a.m. Wednesday in Holt County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Freightliner semi driven by a 46-year-old Schulter, Oklahoma man was northbound on Interstate 29 just south of Mound City. The vehicle’s towed unit had equipment failure, struck an emergency cross over, became detached and overturned in the median. A northbound 2022 Volvo semi driven by a 64-year-old Omaha, Nebraska, man attempted to avoid the Freightliner. The Volvo skidded off the east side of the road, struck the Freightliner and overturned.
Holt-Atchison EMS transported the Volvo semi driver to Mosaic in St. Joseph. The Freighliner driver was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
