A peaceful protest and rally titled “ICE out for Good” is scheduled to take place in St. Joseph this weekend on the Belt Highway following a deadly shooting in Minneapolis.

The event, organized by Persisterhood-St. Joseph, aims to bring attention to the killing of American citizen Renee Nicole Good by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The rally is part of a series of protests across the U.S. organized by advocacy groups to highlight what they call an abuse by federal immigration enforcement agencies.

Participants are encouraged to bring flags and signs to show solidarity and support for the cause.

The protest takes place Sunday, Jan. 11 at the intersection of Belt Hwy and Frederick Ave from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
