HOLT COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 9p.m. Wednesday in Holt County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Toyota Prius driven by an 81-year-old Maitland man was southbound on U.S. 59 at Holt 215 five miles south of Mound City. The driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The car traveled off the west side of the road and the driver overcorrected. The car began to skid, returned to the road, traveled off the east side of the road, struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof.
Atchison Holt ambulance transported the driver to Fairfax Hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
