Savannah is a contender for the Missouri Humanities’ “Small Town Showcase,” a program highlighting local history and culture through podcasts and short films.

In recognition of the United States’ semiquincentennial in 2026, the population limit for applicant towns has been increased to 25,000.

Savannah is one of 16 Missouri towns up for consideration.

Organizers are discussing potential expansions or modifications to the showcase format, though the series is expected to maintain its current structure and production flow.

The public can vote on the current nominees and listen to stories from previously featured towns at mohumanities.org/small-town-showcase.
