The University Gallery at Missouri Western State University will host “Horizons,” an exhibition featuring selections from the Eickhorst Print Collection, running through May 1.
An opening reception is scheduled for 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Feb. 19, in the gallery, located in Spratt Hall, Room 211. Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public.
“Horizons” examines the boundary where the earth meets the sky, treating the landscape as a site of potential, transition, and limitation. The featured printmakers explore the genre in diverse ways, challenging viewers to consider the horizon as a metaphorical and psychological boundary rather than just a physical one.
The Eickhorst Print Collection includes more than 1,000 prints curated by Dr. William Eickhorst, a professor emeritus who served on the university’s art faculty for 28 years. The University Gallery was established in 2018 to house the collection.
The gallery is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
