A body and vehicle were recovered from Smithville Lake in connection with a missing persons report being investigated by the Platte County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was found near Crow’s Creek boat ramp, and authorities are awaiting the medical examiner’s report for positive identification. No foul play is suspected, and the missing persons case was transferred from the Platte City Police Department. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in the recovery efforts.
