Atchison High School wrestler Oktavija Burnett has been honored with a day dedicated to her accomplishments, following her 4A Girls Wrestling State Championship win for the 2025-2026 season. The Atchison City Commission proclaimed Friday, April 10 as Oktavija Burnett Day in the City of Atchison. Additionally, April has been recognized as Child Abuse Awareness Month in Atchison, with efforts to increase awareness and promote the well-being of children and families. The Week of the Young Child, celebrated from April 13 to 17, will be observed in Atchison to support early learning initiatives.
