Missouri woman dead after 4-vehicle Buchanan Co. crash

BUCHANAN COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Monday in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Lincoln MKZ driven by a 49-year-old Clarksdale woman was eastbound on MO 6 at Hurlingen Road three miles east of St. Joseph.  The car crossed the center line and struck the rear-drivers side of westbound 2021 Nissan Rogue driven by a 63-year-old St. Joseph woman.

After impact the Lincoln traveled off the south side of MO 6, struck the concrete barrier, returned to the road, crossed the center line and struck the rear drivers side of a westbound 2016 Ford F150 driven by a 44-year-old St. Joseph man and then struck the front of a 2021 Chevy Tahoe driven by a 37-year-old St. Joseph woman.

The 49-year-old Clarksdale woman was pronounced deceased at Mosaic Life Care.

Buchanan County EMS transported the 63-year-old Nissan driver, the 37-year-old Tahoe driver, a 9-year-old female passenger in the Nissan, a 9-year-old male and 12-year-old female passengers from the Tahoe to Mosaic. The Tahoe driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
