Sheriff: Homeland Security jails man after 4 DUI arrests

BROWN COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating an illegal immigrant on multiple allegations after an arrest in Kansas.

Just after 5p.m. September 9, a sheriff’s deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on US 75 Highway near the US 36 Highway interchange for speed violation, according to Sheriff John Merchant. The deputy contacted the driver identified as 40-year-old Giesic Centeno ofBeatrice, Nebraska. The deputy detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and the driver did not possess a valid drivers license.  

The deputy performed field sobriety testing which Centeno failed.   Based on 3 prior DUI convictions, Centeno was arrested on charges of Felony DUI and Operate a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License.  It was discovered  that Centeno was subject to be deported. Department of Homeland Security agents now have custody of Centeno.
