Sheriff: Suspect with no drivers license dumped trash on Kan. highway

BROWN COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after an incident in northeast Kansas.

Just before 10a.m. September 10, a sheriff’s deputy was on routine patrol and noticed plywood scattered on U.S. 36 highway just south of Hiawatha that appeared to have been lost off of a vehicle going to the landfill, according to Brown County Sheriff John Merchant. 

  A vehicle description was passed on to landfill employees by the deputy , and the suspect vehicle and occupants were made available for questioning when the deputy arrived.   

Upon conclusion of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, 31-year-old  Edubiel Vega Gonzalez of  Dawson, Nebraska was arrested on requested charges of Driving While License Cancelled, Suspended or Revoked  and also cited for  Littering  The passengers in the Gonzalez vehicle were directed to clean the debris from the roadway.
