Carriage rides are once again being offered in Downtown St. Joseph during the holiday season.

Christy George, with the St. Joseph Downtown Community Improvement District, says the carriage rides are taking place Saturday, Dec. 6th and Saturday, Dec. 20th.

“They take place right outside across from the Pop-up Villiage on Felix, close to the park across from the German American building,” George says.

The carriage rides are free of charge and on a “first come, first serve” basis. George says, “We’ll be monitoring it, and if it gets close to the end and you’re in line, then you’ll get to ride.”

According to George, the rides begin at 624 Felix, then run up 8th Street to Edmond and onto 6th Street.

There will be a four-seat carriage and a two-seat carriage available each night. George notes, “Availabilty depends on the weather, as well.”

The carriage rides take place both nights from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

George adds, “On Saturday, December 13th, there will be hayrides instead of carriage rides.”
