Mo. man, 3 juveniles injured after rear-end crash

BUCHANAN COUNTY—Four people were injured in an accident just after 6:30p.m. Saturday in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 25-year-old Smithville man was southbound on Interstate 29 in St. Joseph. The Jeep traveled off the east side of the road, returned to the road and rear-ended a 2015 Toyota Highlander driven by a 38-year-old Smithville man. After impact the Jeep began to skid, struck the guardrail on the west side of the road and overturned.

Buchanan County EMS transported the Jeep driver and a 6-year-old boy, 9-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl, who were passengers in the Toyota, to Mosaic Life Care.The Toyota driver was not injured. All were properly restrained at the time of the crash, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
