Mo. man dead, 2 juveniles injured after semi, SUV crash

DEKALB COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 9p.m. Saturday in DeKalb County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a Chevy Tahoe driven by a 34-year-old Savannah man was northbound on MO 33 two miles west of Osborn. The driver failed to stop at the stop sign at U.S. 36. The Tahoe traveled into the path of an eastbound 2025 Volvo semi. After impact, the semi overturned and came to rest blocking the eastbound passing lane of the highway.

The 34-year-old Tahoe driver was pronounced dead at the scene. DeKalb Clinton Ambulance transported a 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, passengers in the Tahoe, to Mosaic in St. Joseph. The 36-year-old semi driver from Florida was not injured. The 13-year-old in the Tahoe was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
