An area road is closed due to a traffic accident.
The Andrew County Sheriff’s Dept. and MoDOT’s Northwest District Office says Southbound Interstate 29 north of St. Joseph at the 56-mile marker is closed due to an overturned semi-truck completely blocking the highway.
All traffic southbound is being diverted to I-229. The accident also has the ramp from southbound U.S. 71 to I-29 closed, and the ramp from I-229 to southbound I-29.
Officials says the timeframe is unknown when the highway will reopen.
