One person was transported to a local hospital early Sunday morning after a fire tore through a residence in the north end of St. Joseph.
The St. Joseph Fire Department responded to the 2000 block of Main Street around 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 25. Arriving crews found the home heavily engulfed in smoke and flames.
A significant response team, including Engines 4, 9, 11, and 12, Rescues 1 and 10, Truck 7, and Battalion Chiefs 33 and 43, worked to quickly suppress the blaze.
While one occupant of the home sustained injuries and was taken for medical treatment, officials confirmed that no firefighters were injured during the operation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
