Smithville authorities have identified the 71-year-old man who died in a house fire last Wednesday as Scott Ritzinger, of Smithville.
The Smithville Police Department released the identity Monday following an autopsy conducted Jan. 30 by Frontier Forensics Midwest.
While a final determination regarding the cause and manner of death is pending a full report from the Medical Examiner’s office, investigators said there are currently no indications of foul play.
Officials stated that further updates will be released as the investigation continues.
