The Bushman Planetarium at Missouri Western State University will host public screenings of “Hubble Vision 2” and “Extreme Planets” at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, and Saturday, Feb. 21.
Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for children 13 and under, students, university employees, military members, and seniors 60 and older. All tickets must be purchased in advance, either online or at Agenstein Hall, room 140, during regular business hours.
- “Hubble Vision 2”: This production chronicles the history of the Hubble Space Telescope since its 1990 launch. The show uses high-detail imagery to explore the telescope’s most significant cosmic discoveries.
- “Extreme Planets”: Since the 1995 discovery of the first planet orbiting a foreign star, astronomers have sought to understand how many “Earth-like” worlds exist. This immersive tour explores the conditions required for life and visits several distant worlds.
Located in Agenstein Hall, room 147, the Bushman Planetarium features a Digistar 4 projection system. The facility utilizes a slightly tilted dome for easier viewing and a Dolby 5.1 surround sound system.
