MoWest to honor Vietnam Veterans with Remembrance Day event March 27

Missouri Western State University’s Center for Military and Veterans Services is partnering with Heroes for Heroes to host a Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Day commemoration on Friday, March 27.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the M.O. Looney Complex.

Gabbie Falletta, director of the Center for Military and Veterans Services, noted that the day serves as a long-overdue tribute to those who served. She stated that the event provides an opportunity to recognize the courage of veterans who may not have received a proper welcome home, while also connecting student and community veterans with essential support resources they might not typically access.

The first four hours of the event, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., will feature a variety of military history displays and resource tables. The day will conclude with a “story time” session from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., designed to provide a meaningful space for reflection, healing, and public expressions of gratitude for veterans and their families.
