An Effingham man is in custody after an alleged assault with a handgun, abduction, and shot fired in Atchison County. Brayden Alexander, 18, reportedly struck a 17-year-old male with a handgun and forced him at gunpoint to a residence where a shot was fired. The juvenile was able to secure the handgun after a resident tackled Alexander. Alexander faces charges including aggravated assault, battery, kidnapping, and discharge of a firearm. He is currently in custody with a bond set at $50,000 as the case remains under investigation.
