Kansas is projected to plant more soybeans and corn in 2026, according to a new report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The state is expected to plant 250,000 more acres of corn and 300,000 more acres of soybeans this year. However, wheat acreage is projected to decrease by 300,000 acres. The increase in soybean and corn planting is expected to bring acreage back to previous levels after a decline in 2025. National trends also show a decrease in planted winter wheat acreage.
