If your farm has been in your family since Dec. 31, 1926, you can still apply for recognition as a Missouri Century Farm. The deadline has been extended to May 15 due to technical issues. The program requires the same family to have owned the farm for 100 consecutive years, with the farm being at least 40 acres and making a financial contribution to the overall farm income. Since its inception in 1976, over 10,000 Missouri farms have received the Century Farm designation. A $140 fee covers the cost of a certificate, metal farm sign, and booklet for approved applicants. Contact your local MU Extension center for more information or visit the program’s website to apply.
