The City of St. Joseph, Missouri, will convert two Downtown parking garages into ground-level parking lots due to structural deficiencies and deterioration. The upper portions of the garages at Fourth and Felix streets and Sixth and Jules streets will be removed, with work starting on the Fourth and Felix garage on May 18th. Temporary lane closures and suspension of nearby parking limits will be implemented during construction. The project, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, will include new entrances, sidewalk repairs, lighting upgrades, and drainage work. Alternative parking options are advised for residents and visitors during construction.
