Firefighters were called to the Homestead Assisted Living Facility in response to an odor on Sunday evening. The odor was traced to a gas stove, but no active gas leaks were found. Residents were evacuated as a precaution, but were able to return safely after the facility was ventilated. Facility staff were commended for their quick response and adherence to safety protocols.
